Back to the Garden!

IN OUR HANDS' first trip overseas (March 24-31, 2018) took us to Kingston, Jamaica! Our hosts, “Jamaica Volunteers”, created wondrous Jamaican meals for us and provided good care in their guest rooms and dorms at “Smoky Manor” - a home up in the hills. Each morning we shared our talents in the HOPE GARDENS and ZOO. We planted seedlings to prepare them for sale! We fed birds and iguanas at the zoo and learned about their care.

Our afternoon group conversation time revolved around the topic of living an ”AFFIRMATIVE LIFE”…how to continually seek to encourage each other and how to teach ourselves positive choices each day.

Other highlights:

• Time at Fort Clarence Beach!
• A drive into the Blue Mountains and tour of Creighton Coffee Estate
• A tour of “Devon House” ending with Devon House Ice Cream (the best in the world)
• A visit to a Maroon Village where we heard about the History of People who refused to be slaves (they made a treaty with the British) and we ALMOST became excellent dancers!!
